Girl of Magic
Girl of Magic

I have never written about this before.

If you are close to me, you know what I think. What I feel. What I believe.

If you have been following Árbol for a while, you know that I often talk about magical moments. Many of my photos and videos are about magic.

For many people, magic feels too vague. Too spiritual. Not tangible enough.

But I have always believed in magic.

When I was twenty, I attended my first retreat. About energy, chakras, spiritual growth. Coaching. The archetypes within yourself. The law of attraction. And so much more.

I devoured books. I wanted to know everything. Read everything I could find.

The book Ask and It Is Given changed so much for me.

I have read it several times over the past twenty-three years.

Everything I am. Everything I have. I didn’t simply receive any of it. I worked for it. I gave things up for it. I fell down and got back up again.

But first, I wished for it all.

I wrote it down.
I created vision boards.
I dreamed it first.
I asked myself what I truly wanted.

And so much of it came true.

By continuing to dream.
By letting go.
And by continuing to move forward.

That girl of magic… she is still there.

Sometimes covered by layers of life.
Sometimes forgotten.
By the busyness of everyday life.
By stress, sadness, or a broken heart.

But magic… it is still there.

When I go for a run this morning, step out of my thoughts, and look around me, I see little purple bell-shaped flowers. I don’t know what kind of flower they are. But I have never seen them here before. A few metres further, there are tiny yellow flowers I had never noticed either.

I have been walking here for weeks.

As if they only become visible when I start looking again. When my eyes are open.

Or the little bird that stays beside me while I plant heather. Simply looking at me. Sitting there quietly while tears run down my face.

And then I know…

This is not just coincidence.

Amatista. The apartment that suddenly appeared in October.

I had always wanted a place there, in that exact part of Calpe. An apartment close to the sea.

And then suddenly, almost by chance, my father came to me.

Tom was selling his apartment. There. Exactly in that location.

That same day, we went to see it. Two days later, Amatista was mine.

I decided to renovate it. Tom knew someone who could do it.

Six months later, Amatista was completely transformed.

Exactly as I had imagined it.

What I wish for often finds its way to me.

And when something truly isn’t right or doesn’t feel aligned, life often makes sure it doesn’t happen.

Not always without struggle.

Sometimes with many tears.
Sometimes with a broken heart.

But even in those moments, there is often meaning afterwards.

So much of what has happened in my life feels like magic.

Not everyone sees it that way.

But I do.

I was convinced I would get tickets to see Celine Dion. Three minutes before everything closed online, it worked.

I felt it: wait for the right moment, Ine.

Árbol, making herbal remedies, and the healing power of nature… I have dreamed about that since I was still in primary school.

A house in Spain too.

I put an apartment by the sea on my vision board when I was twenty.

That girl of magic… that girl of the love story… that one great love for a lifetime… she was always there.

Sometimes everything happens through a detour.

Sometimes things don’t unfold the way you hope. Or wish.

But I still believe that everything happens for a reason.

Even when I cannot understand why.

Or how.

Or why something first has to hurt before it becomes clear.

Then I think:

One day, I will understand.

Even if that day is not today.

How Do You Recognise Magic?

Magic rarely comes with fireworks.

It is often found in the smallest things:

  • Someone who calls at exactly the right moment.
  • A door that closes so another one can open (even if you only realise it later).
  • An idea that suddenly becomes crystal clear.
  • A meeting that changes everything.
  • A song that says exactly what you need to hear.
  • A bird, a flower, or a sunset that makes you stop for a moment.
  • A desire that becomes reality years later.
  • Your intuition whispering: wait a little longer… now is the time.

The dreamer in me has never truly disappeared.

But by now, I also know that you have to move when the moment is right. That dreams alone are not enough.

That you miss opportunities when you keep waiting.

That you have to keep your heart open.
Keep looking.
Keep dreaming.
Keep moving forward.

Keep taking one step after another.

Even when sometimes you would rather disappear for a while.

Because then… suddenly… the right doors open.

And often, when you least expect it.

Maybe magic is not something outside of us.

Maybe magic is simply living with open eyes.
Daring to feel. Daring to wish. Daring to trust.

And continuing to take steps, even when you cannot yet see the path.

Because sometimes the miracle only appears after you start moving.

Maybe everyone carries a girl (or boy) of magic within them.

A little voice that keeps dreaming.
That sees beauty where others walk past.
That believes love, timing, and miracles exist.

Maybe you just have to let her speak again.

That girl of magic…

I wouldn’t know how to live without her.

Life is so much more beautiful with her.
