Respecting Limits.
Pushing Boundaries.
Two days. Two lessons.
One day taught me to stop.
The other taught me to jump.
This blog is about boundaries, trust, and what happens when you truly listen to yourself.
Wow… today’s dry canyoning was incredible.
Dry canyoning because there is no water involved. You walk through forests, along rocks and ravines. And you rappel down into the depths.
Yesterday was all about respecting my limits.
Not taking the 8 and 12-metre jumps.
Stopping at 4 metres.
And allowing myself to be carried by the sea during coasteering.
But today was about the complete opposite.
Pushing boundaries.
Trust.
Trusting the ropes.
Trusting yourself.
Trusting your body.
When you rappel 5, 10… 20 metres down into the depths.
Not seeing what comes next.
Not knowing how far you have to go.
Or where you can and should place your feet.
Trusting your instincts.
Your body.
Yourself.
Two months ago, I was here too.
I did a hike through the Mascarat Gorge with my best friend.
Incredibly beautiful. Breathtaking.
I was so happy that I could do it again.
Hiking. Walking.
Five kilometres.
At the end, we reached a 20-metre cliff.
It was the end of our path.
We had to turn back.
Against the rocks, we saw a woman rappelling down.
In the video, you can see us standing there saying:
“Wow… that’s crazy.”
I never thought that two months later…
I would be that woman.
Today, I stood there.
At the top.
And I went.
With fear? Yes.
But I still went.
So many boundaries pushed today.
Real fear felt.
And then that pure feeling of victory
when you stand at the bottom…
look back up…
And realise:
I did this.
Maybe that is what Árbol is too.
Learning to listen to yourself again.
Knowing when to respect your limits…
and when you are ready to move beyond them.
Finding peace, even when you choose not to do something.
Being proud of yourself.
Especially then.
Being proud when you do something.
But perhaps even more…
when you choose not to.
Seeing.
Feeling.
And living with an open heart.
And magic…
Árbol is still magic to me.
